Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Technology

The Graduate Program in Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Technology aims at contributing with high-level human resources to generate new poles of technical and scientific development, as well as with national development in the important areas of Fermentation Technology, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technology and Food Technology. With a history of more than 40 years, the Program is part of a CAPES select roll of Excellence Programs, with a grade 6 over a maximum of 7. Faculty with different backgrounds (Pharmacists and Biochemists, Biologists, Engineers and Veterinaries) reinforces the interdisciplinary character of the Program. Furthermore, the program has a strong international profile. We receive a significant number of foreign students and researchers, what provides a scientific and culturally diverse environment. Additionally, we currently have Double Degree Programs (PhD.) with the following institutions: University of Copenhagen – Denmark; Universitá degli Studi di Genova - Italy; Institute National Agronomique Paris-Grignon - France; Universidade do Minho – Portugal and Universidad de La Frontera – Chile. Our Double Degree Programs allow students to obtain PhD. degrees from both participating institutions and valid in both countries.
