Rosario Dominguez Crespo Hirata

 

Rosario Dominguez Crespo Hirata is Full Professor at University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, in the Department of Clinical Analyses and Toxicology, School of Pharmaceutical Science. She is pharmacist and has MSc and PhD at University of Sao Paulo. She was also a post-doctorate fellow at US Food and Drug Administration. She has studied genetic risk factors of dyslipidemia, obesity and diabetes, as well as genomic biomarkers of response to drugs used to treat dyslipidemia (statins and ezetimibe) and immunosuppressants used in kidney transplant recipient therapy. She also has experience in the differential expression analysis of mRNAs and microRNAs in vivo (human) and in vitro (cell lines) experimental models. Dr. R. Hirata leads the research group Pharmacogenomics and Molecular Biomarkers, which investigates the molecular bases of metabolic, cardiovascular, renal and infectious diseases using genomics, epigenomics and pharmacogenomics approaches. The group's research contributes to scientific knowledge and training students, generating innovative data on the Brazilian population.
